Do You Love Me?

The disciples make a big splash and breakfast with the risen Jesus in the gospel. Wading in the water (remembering our baptism) and eating with Jesus (celebrating the holy communion) is our weekly encounter with the risen Christ. Jesus asks us, with Peter, again and again: Do you love me? And Jesus invites us, again and again, to follow him, bringing the Easter life to others.

Thursdays, May 2, 9 & 16; 1:00 & 7:00 pm

Join Nancy Anderson, a member of LELC with an Associate in Ministry degree, in exploring the ancient poetry of the Psalms. Join us for one of our sessions on Thursdays, May 2, 9, and 16 from 1:00-2:30 or 7:00-8:30. (both sessions cover the same information.) The Psalmists ask, “Where are you God? Why don’t you help me?” They also express joy and praise in their prayers. We will discuss the historical context, differentiate the categories of Psalms, and learn hints for reading Hebrew poetry, all while we “sing” our favorite Psalms or explore some new ones. Please sign up on the bulletin board. We meet in the Adult Education Room in the Learning Center.
