Take a look at the lineup for this year. MN League List of Teams

Not only do we have new teams, but new communities as part of our league. To name a few: Mankato, Highland Park, Bemidji, Faribault, Mendota Heights and even Hudson, WI...since they are just over the border...

As time draws closer to the start of the season, teams are scrambling to get training rides in and to get their riders registered to race!

Remember, first race is Sun. Sept. 7 at Salem Hills. We look forward to seeing all the new faces and the familiar faces back for another season of fun...and mountain bike racing.

Race Details and Deadlines for the Sept. 7 race will be posted the week of Aug. 11, 2014 to the website.

"Be sure to follow the MN League on Facebook or Twitter for updates.

Meet Jerry Pomije, guy on the left. New NICA Board President and QBP VP of Operations and Finance.

NICA recently voted in a new President for their Board of Directors. We were thrilled to learn that Jerry Pomije was voted in as the new President.

As a Senior Executive for Quality Bicycle Products (QBP) since 1997, Jerry helped QBP rapidly grow into one of the most successful and respected companies in the bike industry. He is excited to share his skills in vision, strategy, execution, finance and operations to help NICA grow.

With many mainstream high school sports limited to a select few athletes, Jerry’s vision for NICA is to see it grow into a new inclusive mainstream nationwide high school sport. NICA brings a great opportunity to engage kids in a healthy life long sport and lifestyle.

Welcome Jerry - we look forward to helping you make your vision a reality!

NICA growth is evident with 13 state leagues...but their office is also growing.

Bruce Martens, the MN Coaching Director, has accepted a new role at NICA.

Bruce Martens will be joining the NICA team as the NICA Coach Licensing Manager. Many of you know Bruce from his tireless efforts before and on each race day since the start of the MN League.

Bruce will bring his talents, insights, and leadership experience to NICA. We wish him all the best. But the good news, he is working remotely from Minnesota and will stay on as our Coaching Director!

Due to unprecedented MN league growth, the MN league has decided to move the Duluth race to Mt. Kato, in Mankato, MN. During our latest course check last week, it was apparent with the increase in ridership, the slated venue in Duluth will not meet the league’s needs.

Our number one goal is to provide a safe venue and racecourse. The MN league is working with various groups in Duluth, including the Duluth team, to help develop a venue for future seasons. The Minnesota High School Cycling League is a state wide organization and we are committed to holding races from border-to-border.

Mt. Kato will replace Duluth on the calendar. We will be using the standard course (not the varsity lap) from last season at Mt. Kato.

Please take a minute to review our growing list of national and local sponsors (see image below). When considering a purchase, be sure to visit and thank our sponsors for their support. Please encourage them to continue to support our student athletes as they learn life lessons about being part of something as special as cycling. VIEW ALL MN LEAGUE SPONSORS
