Going on and coming up

Blue eyelet cardigan

Hi there,

Sometimes you just don't know how a thing is going to be until you see it. When the Mode at Rowan book came out, I was all about the blue eyelet cardigan. Maybe it's just I am so entranced by the model. But honestly, I thought it was going to be the standout piece of the show. It wasn't. Looks great on the model--, as I said, she is stunning--but on the rest of us, not so much.

Mode Cowl Cardigan

These next two, however, were amazing on everyone. The Cowl Cardigan, which I couldn't figure out and couldn't imagine wearing, turned out to be the garment I couldn't take off. Both days. Same for everyone else who tried it on. It's lovely. Great shape, beautiful drape--and that built in cowl I couldn't figure out was wonderful I don't know what it is about it, but I love it. Sometimes love is like that. Don't try to figure out why it works, just go with it.

Thinking about a set of interchangeable needles? Good plan! Interchangeable needles are probably the best investment you can make in your knitting. You always have just what you need, right with you, in a tidy little case. And like all good investments, an interchangeable set saves you money in the long run.

There are lots and lots of options. Here at the shop we carry three different brands and up to 5 different styles each. So many choices can be a little overwhelming, so we're having an Interchangeable Needle Expo where you can try out each style. See which connection you prefer - which material you like best, and so on. I'll be on hand to explain the differences and the benefits of each. You can see how they join, how they feel in your more info and to register

Brioche 3 1

Brioche is huge for fall. A lovely stretchy fabric, it's especially striking worked in two colors. It's not hard, but it is a little fiddly, especially when you throw in those increases and decreases that make brioche patterns so appealing. In this class, Ginni will show you how to do shaping in your brioche fabric as you make this lovely two color cowl. Click here for more info or to register

Cowl Cardigan KAL event

As I said in the article, this is a stunning piece. It's not hard, but as you know, it's always nice to knit together. A long swingy cardigan with a built in cowl, this sweater goes everywhere. The body is knit in a simple k1p1 pattern, and the sleeves are worked in garter. A seamed raglan, it's an easy, comfortable fit. Join us Friday afternoons at 1:30 starting December 6th to get started. C'mon - you

Did you miss the special Mode Trunk Show premier? That's okay, you still have time to see it, and you totally should. Honestly, I have rarely seen so many lovely garments in one place. Stop by the shop anytime between now and November 22nd to see these lovely pieces. Be sure to try them on - especially the Cowl Cardigan, so you can see how it fits and which size you want for the knitalong. Try on the Sleeveless Vest too - you'll be surprised at how much you like it. Keidi and I agreed that we were not really vest girls but that we love this. That's because it's not a vest, it's a Sleeveless Jacket ;) Anyway, come see, come touch, and come fall in love...with Mode at Rowan.
