Trek stepped up to the plate in a major way when John Burke committed $1 million to NICA at Trek World this past August. The contribution will supplement their existing platinum level sponsorship, and be fulfilled over the next 5 years with the help of Trek retailers across the country. Trek has always been a big supporter of NICA, but now they've taken it to the next level!
The program is simple in concept; for every Bontrager mountain bike tire sold, Trek (and participating retailers) will each donate $1 to help further NICA's mission. You can read more about the official announcement here, but we want to take this time to personally recognize Trek for setting a precedent that we hope others will follow.
This fundraising program goes beyond the traditional sponsorship model by engaging both consumers and retailers to contribute a small amount towards getting #morekidsonbikes. A particular saying comes to mind, "a rising tide lifts all boats" and we encourage you to hop in the water and help us rise the tide over the next 5 years - and beyond!
