Director's Note

I hope all of you are remaining healthy and sane with this everchanging landscape. Your ability to navigate the infinite uncertainties while maintaining a positive attitude and staying connected with your teams is remarkable.

It is inspiring to see many of you attending to your coach license requirements. See below about upcoming opportunities to meet your Coach license requirements.

Pre-season activities are suspended until further notice. We are following the Colorado High School Activities Association policy which states no activities through June 1st.

Please check the website and the associated link for current updates. Continue to act and recreate RESPONSIBLY.

The schedule and race format will be confirmed as we receive guidance from state and local health departments. We are agile, resourceful, and committed to maintaining a relevant program that positively impacts youth and families.

May 30-31 Annual Spring Coach Summit - NEW DATE Online via Zoom

Sessions will be on Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons. Each module includes 3 credit hours.

Sessions will focus on the core tracks for new coaches specific to the Colorado League and options for returning coaches.

OTB 101 Skills Training Request Survey

An initiative for the 2020 season is to bring OTB 101 Skills training when and where you need it.

We have many fantastic trainers who are excited to work directly with you. Please take a moment to complete the survey below, letting us know when and where to offer the OTB 101 training. We will compile this information and develop a schedule of trainings. The ratio of trainers to participants will be 1 trainer: 5-9 coaches.

CPR & Wilderness First Aid - Blended Online Courses

Front Range CPR developed an online virtual learning environment that will allow coaches the opportunity to complete their CPR and Wilderness First Aid training. They will deliver 12 hours of virtual classroom learning via Zoom. These courses will be live giving you the best opportunity to engage in the training and ask questions in real-time.

Team Registration Process and Head Coach Zoom Meetings

Coach and team registration are open. Coaches who wish to complete license criteria license requirements login as usual. Rider registration will open once practices are allowed.

Given that practices are suspended and teams are not insured, it is recommended that teams do not pay team fees until further notice.

Team Registration Process

Head Coaches and/or Team Directors who are responsible for paying team fees PLEASE use the following steps to register. This will allow you to complete your annual requirements and manage your team roster.

1. Login
2. Go through the registration steps.
3. Once your background check is completed continue the registration process. The system will require you to pay for both your team and coach fee at the same time.
4. IMPORTANT: Select "Pay by Check" which will include Coach and Team fee.
5. We will "Reject" your Coach fee. The team fee will sit in "Payments Pending".
6. You will receive an email that says your "Pay by Check" Coach fee was rejected.
7. Login and Pay the Coach fee. This will allow you to re-invite returning coaches, invite new coaches, and deactivate coaches.

Head Coach Zoom Meetings

Zoom sessions are scheduled to hear directly from team representatives. The objective is to implement a system to engage with teams on a more regular basis. The meetings are scheduled for Thursdays at 11 AM and 7 PM during the next month. All Head Coaches and/or Team Directors have received links for the sessions according to their respective regions. Know that you can delegate a representative to join the meeting. If you have any questions please reach out to kate@coloradomtb.org.

The Colorado High School Activities Association has a moratorium on Spring activities through June 1st.

All pre-season activities are suspended until further notice.

Teams are not insured.

There are countless ways to keep your riders moving and healthy. Please reinforce the importance of recreating RESPONSIBLY.

A variety of tools are available for FREE. Create a team Strava group and encourage your riders to stay connected virtually. Join the Colorado League Strava community.
