How I Discovered the Truth About Receiving and Giving

MentorCONNECT - a giving idea of the heart come to life!

When I first became sick with an eating disorder, I didn't really know what was happening to me.

But I knew it didn't feel good.

And I knew I didn't feel good - about my disease, or about me.

So when I first starting trying to recover, I accepted others' help only because I had exhausted all other options.

I didn't feel worthy of their time. I didn't think I deserved the gifts of their compassion and mentoring guidance.

Yet, it still felt very good to receive what they had to offer.

As I received more and more and began to really fill up on love and grace and self-worth for the first time ever, something amazing occurred.

I began to long to give to others.

Suddenly I perceived a person worth being and something worth giving within me.

This is when the true gifts of receiving and giving began to reveal themselves to me.

First I had allowed myself to receive and receive and receive, getting more and more and more full of all the good things that supportive, nurturing relationships have to offer.

This in turn activated my desire to give - out of the fullness I had first received.

And it was when I began to hope for the privilege of giving that I fully accepted the gift of receiving.

It was also right around this time that MentorCONNECT began to take shape as an idea inside my heart - a global community where everyone who needed to receive and all those who longed to give could meet and connect.

Today, that same idea is nearing its 8th birthday, and it needs YOUR giving help.

If you are able to offer your time as a mentor, we would love to hear from you.

If you are able to offer a donation in any amount at any time, we would love to hear from you.

And please accept my gratitude for whatever your heart feels moved to offer - as one receiver to another, and one giver to another.

With great respect and love,
