Directors Note
Volumes of research prove the profound benefits that spending time in nature, participating in sports, and being playful have on human development. High school mountain biking is an ideal combination of these elements!

The collaborative, spirited action of coaches, student-athletes, volunteers, board members, race crew, and committed sponsors foster an environment where all youth can thrive. The energy, commitment, and belief this community has in the power of mentoring youth is astounding. We are grateful to all who keep the wheels rolling.

We are thrilled to welcome Your Hometown Toyota Stores as a new title sponsor. Read below about race season updates, upcoming events, other sponsors, and more.

Keep spreading joy in the dirt,

Toyota New Title Sponsor

Your Hometown Toyota Stores stepped up in a huge way as the Colorado League series title sponsor. This group of dealers strongly believes in the positive impact of our mission to provide youth development programming that builds strong minds, bodies, and characters in a setting that is inclusive and equal from the saddle of a mountain bike. This substantial commitment buoys our ability to provide this opportunity to teams, student-athletes, and families across the region.

Toyota is in the business of making great cars and trucks. They also work every day to apply and share their know-how in ways that benefit people, the community, and our planet in order to build a better tomorrow. Together we are going to places!

2017 Race Schedule Update

We have some big news for the 8th year of the Colorado League! Our vision is to transition into a parallel conference race series by 2020. This will be accomplished gradually as we are able to garner the necessary resources and we are confident that we can provide an exceptional experience where safety is a priority. Special event funding provided by the Steamboat Springs Chamber of Commerce allows us to pilot this concept.

Race #2 Sunday, September 10th races will be held at two different race locations.

North Conference - Emerald Mountain, Steamboat Springs.

South Conference - Colorado Mountain College, Leadville.

We are extremely grateful to the assistance provided by many Steamboat Springs residents and organizations who advocated on our behalf. They include Eric Meyer of Route County Riders, Blair Seymour, Michelle Freckleton, Amy Stern of Bike Town USA, and David Scully of EnduroX.

2017 Fee Structure

The Colorado League is a non-profit enterprise and we are very sensitive to any cost increases. In 2016, sponsorships, grants, and fundraising covered 38% of total expenses. We are extremely fortunate to gather resources that allow us to keep participation fees at 2016 prices. It is important to know that if these funds cease to exist we will be required to increase fees. We are committed to keeping fees reasonable while sustaining the organization.

We continue to prioritize affordability of programming, focus on fundraising efforts, and provide as many student-athletes, coach, and team scholarships as resources permit. We admire the fundraising efforts of teams. Collectively we are getting more teens on bikes, reducing barriers to entry, and providing a positive youth development experience one pedal stroke at a time!

There will be no increase in participation fees in 2017. Details are listed HERE.
