The 2020 NICA National Staff caught up earlier this month to get ready for the year!

Happy New Year!

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of you in our community who contributed to our annual Share the Ride Campaign. Through your generosity we were able to raise funds that will support both our national level programs and also go directly to supporting programs and initiatives in our 31 leagues.

As we look to 2020, we are excited to welcome four new members to the NICA National team to fill open positions we have had since last fall. You will be introduced to these four new staff members later on in this newsletter. We have filled two open positions in our Coach Licensing Program, brought on a full-time GRiT Program Manager to lead our efforts to get #moregirlsonbikes and bolstered our development team filling our open Development Operations Manager position.

This year we will also see four leagues launch their inaugural seasons. The Florida League kicks off their inaugural season in just a few short weeks, and Missouri, Nebraska and South Carolina will host their inaugural seasons this fall.

At the National Level we will be continuing to develop and expand both our competitive and non-competitive programs for student-athletes with focused efforts on our Girls Riding Together (GRiT) initiative, Camps, Teen Trail Corps and continued piloting of our new Adventure Program. Personally, I am looking forward to visiting our spring leagues in the coming months and continuing to connect with members of our nationwide community.

Best Regards,
Steve
