Hi ...

Been attempting to write a newsletter but my heart’s not in it. Feel like I want a BOOM to happen in my life. Something to shake it up in a good way. Feel what I call ‘itchy-scratchy’ and desire lots of chocolate. None in the fridge and not in a mood to go buy some.

Even though I know these are signs of me wearing clothes a size too small. That something in me wants to burst out, burst seams and be big bold and beautiful in the world… It doesn’t help.

Or does it?

Been here before, this giving birth to myself business. I know the journey. But how many times do I have to give birth to myself for goodness sake? Haven’t I done enough already? The answer always… ‘NO!’

Knowing the way of things, it’s time to surrender. Thy Will not my Will be done. At the same time part of me tries to cut short the labour… as if!

Surrender it is. Whatever’s going on, I can make it hard and a struggle or easier… I choose the latter. Which is still hard and a struggle because I don’t damn well want to do it! Hard and a struggle are familiar and, as a human being, how I hold onto the familiar even when it’s excruciating.

STOP!

BREATHE!

Step back. Get out of my own way. My top two methods to stop driving me crazy…

1. Offer the whole scribbly-dang feelings and conflict up to the divine to hold and resolve. You can do that by imagining it all on a big platter which you raise above your head… or in any way that works for you. Hold it up until you experience the tension melting away.
2. Put a hand where your heart is, eyes closed and ask, ‘Is there love even here?’ ‘Here’ meaning in whatever issue has you discombobulated or upset. Repeat several times until you feel the tension melting away. A beautiful Sufi ritual for which I’m forever grateful.

And now?

Peace.

The parts of me at war are now in truce. Space is created for whatever’s emerging to do so in its own good time. This will now be sooner without my ranting and raving.

How about you? Where and with what issue could you use one of these top two methods to stop driving yourself crazy?

Assuming that you want to, of course...

Love to you…
