UPDATE: Help Legalize Tiny Homes in Ojai

In case you haven't heard, there will be a public meeting at Ojai's City Hall to discuss the legalization of tiny homes (date changed to March 16th). You can read more HERE and HERE.

The local paper Ojai Valley News had an article about the upcoming meeting with the Planning Commission, as well as the story about my Tiny House. Read the article HERE.

The biggest motivation for me is hearing from so many people who can't find affordable places to live. Even for a small [undesirable] rental, the cost is about $1500/month in Ojai, so people are forced to move. Many of them are artists and an integral part of the community. It's unfortunate we are losing that which makes Ojai so special.

If you want to make changes towards affordable housing, we strongly encourage you to attend. This is a rare opportunity to influence public policy and make a difference.

OJAI PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING, MARCH 16TH IN CITY HALL
WHERE: Ojai City Hall, 401 S. Ventura St., Ojai, CA 93023
WHEN: Wednesday March 16th at 6pm. The discussion will be last on the agenda, so please be prepared to stay later.

Dan Fitzpatrick, the California Chapter leader of American Tiny Homes Association, will give an informative slide presentation about legalizing tiny homes. Planning Commission members Chester Jagiello and Kathy Nolan are strong advocates of tiny homes as a means for affordable housing, and we are grateful for their time and effort.

BONUS: The filmmaking team from Tiny House Expedition will travel to Ojai and will be interviewing key players and local residents to document the process of legalizing tiny homes.

PRE- MEETING FEB. 28TH FOR COMMUNITY RESIDENTS
WHERE: HIP Vegan Cafe, 928 E. Ojai Ave., Ojai, CA 93023
WHEN: Sunday Feb. 28th at 12:30pm. The purpose of this pre-meeting is to prepare for the official meeting in March. If you are an Ojai resident, please join us!

Hope to see you there!

REVIEWS

“I toured this tiny house and it is AMAZING!!! It is beautiful in the pictures but they don’t do it the justice it deserves. It is such a wonderful space. Vina did a fantastic job designing and building her tiny house!”
-Annie Hobson, Orange, CA

“I am a big fan of architecture and design in general, and everything about your design ethos just really resonates with me. That house is a work of art, expressing a coherent philosophy, and it is rare that you get to see such a project so thoroughly and consistently realized.”
– Beau Weaver, Ojai, CA
