PLENTY OF SEATS STILL AVAILABLE! If you're planning to attend, e-mail raconteurbooks@gmail.com w. the subject heading: TAKE ME TO PARIS!
Raconteur Radio & The Borough Improvement League recreate Gertrude Stein's famed Saturday salon and cordially invite you to spend an evening with Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, Isadora Duncan, Henri Matisse, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Salvador Dali, and, of course, the Mother of Modernism herself at 27 Rue de Fleurus. |
Jane Hardy returns for ONE NIGHT ONLY! with her tour-de-force radio drama portrayal of the dynamic matriarch and the (lost) generation of writers/artists she mentored.
9:00 PM, Sat. June 13 @ The Old Franklin School in Metuchen. House opens @ 8:30.
WITH: theatrical lighting, period costuming, Golden Age radio equipment, extensive sound effects, and a selection of period Parisian ballads (incl. "La Vie en Rose" and "Sous le ciel de Paris") sung live by our resident honey-toned chanteuse, Danielle Illario.
PLUS: Dripped Absinthe, wine, the Jack Rose Cocktail (using Harry MacHelone's 1920's Paris recipe), and light snacks.
AND: A dozen lucky attendees will receive a rose (is a rose is a rose), courtesy of Gertrude & Gardenias. (If it's a particularly special day for you or someone in your party, let me know, and I'll make sure you get one.)
Cabaret-style table seating. $25 at the door. Again, house opens (and cocktails are served) at 8:30 PM; performance begins at 9 PM.
