Changing Your Family’s Mind:
Mindfulness for Parents and Kids |
Wednesday, April 26
6:30 pm Refreshments and Networking
7:00 - 8:30 pm Program
Second Floor Atrium
Just in time for AP exams and finals, this workshop, designed specifically for parents and guardians of NCP students, will demystify mindfulness and show how it can increase the brain's gray matter, boost creativity and intensify focus.
Noted expert Michael Maslar, Psy.D., Director of Mindfulness and Behavior Therapies, The Family Institute of Northwestern University, will take us on an interactive tour of mindfulness and its benefits for your whole family.
It’s not too late to sign up!
You'll learn how to practice mindfulness, hear about important new research and gain tools to share with your student as they embark on this busy and stressful time of the year.
Please RSVP HERE. Walk-ins will be welcome, but we appreciate online sign-ups to ensure we can accommodate everyone.

Hosted by the Northside Parent Network in partnership with the NCP Administration. |

Chicago Latino Film Festival
Students in Señor Blease's Spanish class have the opportunity to receive supplemental credit by attending the Chicago Latino Film Festival. Although this experience is an amazing celebration of international films and culture, some films may not be appropriate for some people. Please click HERE to view the website and read descriptions of the movies so you can determine which ones are appropriate for your child.
The festival runs from April 20 to May 4. The cost for students is $10 with ID, but Señor Blease will be exploring less expensive options and will post what he learns on his website. |
