The taxi driver stopped the car. But we are not here I protested. No cars allowed he said and introduced us to his friendly rickshaw driver who could take us into the old city. The centre of Moradabad brass trading area is car free, which is just as well because is is crazy packed with everything else. It took about ten minutes on the rickshaw passing other food and clothing markets finally you come to the very oldest part of town.
Small showrooms crammed to the roof with brass items of every kind.
It was smelly noisy and hectic.. Just great. We spent all day checking out various family businesses been taken to see products and workshops.
This is real India and maybe in this place my grandfather would have been happy.
I certainly was.
Right now I'm on the way to Kolkata to visit our jute supplier and see the children's home we support. I'll report next week.
Meanwhile back in UK it is Halloween weekend so have some scary fun.
Take care
