NCP Students Shine at 2020 National Spanish Exams

Spanish teachers Mr. Blease and Ms. Torres reported some good news regarding NCP students' achievements on the 2020 National Spanish Exams!

Several of their Spanish students from Northside attained national recognition for excellent results. Overall, students from Northside earned a total of 43 gold, 71 silver, and 55 bronze medals along with 70 honorable mentions. A total of 94% of students taking Spanish at Northside attained these medals/honorable mentions!

“Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of the Exams, “because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with over 140,000 students registered in 2020.”

The National Spanish Exams are administered each year in grades 6 through 12 and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
