Hello ,
Greetings from Slovakia
Last week I was telling you about Pulling the Plug in Spain and procrastination and how to conquer it. You can read about it here.
Since then my wife and I flew to Rome, took a good look at the eternal city (and its gift shops) then got a short flight to Vienna airport, where Tomas our marketing manager met us to take us to Slovakia and the City of Bratislava. Tomas is Slovakian, and his home town near Bratislava is Trnava - also known locally as "Little Rome" on account of having so many pretty churches in a small locality. So from Rome to Little Rome.
We have driving around in the snow looking at potential warehouses for expansion in europe. Bratislava is 20 minutes from four countries and from here you can deliver next day to most of Europe, no wonder there are logistics companies here in force. We looked at a Heineken warehouse, they are moving to a bigger location so who know we may be in an ex-beer warehouse reaching parts that other ex-beer warehouses don't :) . But it's early days lots to think about.
So much to think about that in fact Tomas took us up in a UFO to ponder the situation..
No really.. You read that correctly. There is a beautiful suspension bridge across the Danube river, on the Central tower of the bridge is an observation pod, known as the UFO.
Inside in the sky is a pretty cool and trendy restaurant and bar. It was moving slightly as the traffic rumbled over the bridge 92 meters below, a little disconcerting but you soon get used to it. Built in 1972 it is older than Slovakia (born 1993) so I guess it's pretty safe if it's lasted this long.
