Happy Spring !

Happy Rebirth to Nature! After a deluge of rain in California, I couldn't believe the beauty that Mother Nature left behind - stunning waterfalls, verdant green mountains and super blooms!

The photo above was taken by my client who has been living in her Prefab Tiny House for nearly a year. She sent this message with the photo:

"My Tiny House is the pot of gold at the end of the Rainbow"

With the rebirth of spring comes renewal, and seeing this photo from my client makes me smile with delight. I realize the passing of time and how much I've learned.

More than 10 years ago (before tiny houses were a "thing" in 2013), I moved into my tiny house after one very intensive year of building. Looking back, I've learned so much about living efficiently and living within one's means. These lessons I carry with me in my business as well as my personal life.

Even if I no longer live in my Tiny House, I miss it very much and I take the lessons with me in my heart. Currently my Tiny House sits on my property near Yosemite (read more in our previous newsletter), and I yearn to live there again, sometime in the near future.

I take a pause of appreciation - for Mother Nature, for my Tiny House, for friends and family, and especially for my connection to you all! Thank you for being here with me. I am infinitely grateful to you as you've followed along my journey for many years.

May this spring season be beautiful... May you experience nature’s infinite wisdom to renew and give birth to new ideas and creativity.

I am thrilled to announce my latest offering, the Tiny House Package! Designed with quality and affordability in mind, I'm delighted to provide a new offering as a fixed fee package to test drive my design services for tiny/small houses. Typically the construction cost for these Tiny House designs are under $200K.

Since the construction of the Tiny House Prefab in Santa Paula, I've had several clients requesting to build the same design of the Tiny House Prefab on their property. To date, I've been able to provide the same design (with some customization) to four different clients in Ventura and Ojai.

To meet the budget of customized builds, the prefab concept is cost prohibitive. You lose the economy of scale with a custom one-off build. The good news is I found a general contractor who can offer my Tiny House design for under $200K!

With four new clients requesting the Tiny House design, I was able to make design modifications specific to client needs. I received cost estimates from the contractor below $200K. The permit process has begun with various locations in the Ciy of Ojai, City of Ventura and the County of Ventura. Soon we're off to the races to start construction!

Since the beginning of this year, I've been working diligently to be more intentional with my business, to use Sol Haus Design as a Force for Good. I have some exciting news to share regarding a 10 year goal to create a business that's truly a force for good... stay tuned for big news coming in June!

To date, SOL HAUS DESIGN has given over $4,522 USD to non-profit environmental partners, such as the Honnold Foundation and Ojai Valley Land Conservancy.
