_Greetings Deer Spirit Friends!_

Here we are at the first Full Moon of Autumn. So far, so good! We've started indoor seating in restaurants this week here in NYC this week, starting at 25% capacity but going up to 50% in a couple weeks if it goes well.

It was very surreal to have Manhattan looking like a ghost town for 5 months, and to now have the sidewalks full of hustling people and rush hour traffic jamming the streets is a welcome sight.

Another thing I'm grateful for is that I was finally able to visit my mother in her retirement community. It was the first time I'd seen her since the lockdown began. She had spent most of the time holed up in her apartment. Her meals were delivered to her every day and social interaction was limited to phone calls and occasional walks outside with friends. I rented a car and was able to take her out for lunch and shopping. Miraculously, there have only been 2 cases of Covid there, a testament to the high quality of care and precaution maintained by the management and residents. She stayed healthy the whole time and at 98 yrs., she's mentally lucid and looks none the worse for the wear!

Message of The Stars

With the Moon in assertive, adventurous, Mars ruled Aries, we want to break down the barriers with our Aries ram horns and explore new territory but with the ongoing Mars - Saturn square (it will last until late October) we need to be very patient. Baby steps will do for now, but the exact square happened on Monday and now the deadlock is gradually releasing. Mars is retrograde until 11/14 but Saturn stationed direct on Tuesday.

The dark side of this square is the elevated potential for extreme violence and / or a covertly engineered "2nd wave" lockdown but so far cooler heads and warmer hearts have prevailed and this seems to have been averted.

Increased self violence may become a problem now too. Self judgment and criticism, over indulgence, addictions, working too hard, denying oneself nourishment, adequate rest relaxation, or hygiene. When self violence reaches critical mass, it can longer be held in the body and will spill over into abuse of another. Let's make sure we're being very gentle, loving and forgiving with ourselves and others!

Today we have Chiron in 7' Aries conjunct the Full Moon in 9' Aries with Mars in 24' Aries in the back seat. It's a very potent alignment which brings in the sacred warrior energy. The Sacred Warrior Hero archetype is not violent per se, but one who is living that role will kill as a last resort in defense of self and loved ones, or even sacrifice their life in order to save the lives of many.

We can embody this archetype outside the realm of violent combat by facing our inner demons; those perceived defects and shortcomings that rob us of fulfillment. Aries is the energy within all of us that has the courage to embrace the hero's journey with all it's challenges and pitfalls, to live with great passion and abandon; to right the wrongs and save the damsel in distress.

The spiritual warrior - hero seeks only to self realize by kindling the divine spark within. That spark must be painstakingly protected and nurtured. Enemies will try to extinguish it or steal it! The hero will be tempted and tested, abandoned, abused, and unjustly accused. But the dark night of the soul will only make him stronger and wiser, and in the end that tiny spark within will have grown into a blazing hearth fire of divine love. This is the most precious treasure and must be freely and humbly given away in order to keep it.

The Aries - Mars warrior energy at it's best is complemented by it's opposite sign Libra, which is ruled by Venus. Libra is the sign of peace, harmony and balance. Signs that are opposite each other in the Zodiac wheel are balanced, merged and married in the journey of self realization.

Deer Spirit Reiki Master Teacher Apprenticeship Program - My Reiki Master Teacher Apprenticeship Program began in February 2017. After a candidate is chosen, they assist in teaching all 4 levels of training (Reiki Levels 1, 2, 3 and Master Teacher). They also have weekly coaching sessions which may be over the phone or in person, and homework assignments. Another aspect of the program is providing Reiki in a volunteer capacity at the free clinics I supervise. The program is tailored to the needs of the individual candidate. If there are issues blocking the candidate's general fulfillment in life and success as a Reiki healer and teacher, these will be addressed through counseling and healing sessions. I am accepting applications for an apprentice who would start working with me in January, 2020.
