Born in Bilbao, Spain, Begoñia Colomar is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker whose work explores memory and emotion through nature, human relationships and dreamlike images. Meaning in Begoñia’s films is driven by color, composition and light. Begoñia’s films are distinguished by their visual and narrative unity, often able to tell many stories without saying any words.
Begonia's credits as writer and director include the short films "Elsie," "Dendral," "Oda," “Habit,” "Atitlán," “Leal" and "Contra" - an official selection at the Cannes International Film Festival. In 2014 she created a two hour VJ set for live performances with musician and sound designer Rich Bologna. "Kente,""Kiro" and “Mende” are three of the finished music videos extracted from the live VJ set.
