Hi, I’m Cierra Caster. I have completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Windsor. I have two Maltese dogs, which were supposed to be teacups but weigh an above average of 12lbs each. Their names are Darla and Dyson, yes named after the vacuum cleaner. They are very mischievous and keep me very busy. When I am not with my dogs I enjoy running and working out. I am happy and grateful to be working with the Transearch Detroit team.
Q. You have been working with TRANSEARCH Detroit for a couple months now. What are your first impressions? How is it going so far? Is it how you envisioned or are there things you did not expect?
My first impression is that the Transearch systems are very organized and well developed. The processes and procedures outline exactly what is to be completed for candidates to smoothly transition through the system. I am enjoying working with the team and learning how to best serve our clients in a variety of situations. I did not expect to have as much fun meeting new people and working collaboratively.
Q. What do you anticipate being the biggest reward working in the executive search industry?
The biggest reward working in the executive search industry is finding the best fit for the candidates and clients. It is very rewarding to follow the candidate through from the initial contact to a signed contract. Also, knowing a client will be happy with their final choice and see the benefits of a best fit candidate.
Q. Out of all your skill sets, which one(s) do you think will be utilized the most in the day-to-day tasks of recruiting?
My ability to reach out and talk to a variety of people will be utilized the most. I am confident and open minded while speaking to a client or candidate in any role. I also enjoy networking and building relationships. Finding something in common can put people at ease and make hard conversations easier and lighter.
Q. In your opinion, what are some of the best ways for a company to make a new employee feel welcome?
A company can allow the new employee to ask questions without criticism or judgment, encourage open communication, and assign a mentor from the start. I have felt supported and encouraged during my first months at Transearch due to the amazing company culture and team.
