Prayer

For whom are you praying today?
How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"Another beautiful day God has given us. Another day to embrace all His Glory laid out before us. I find myself more thankful every day that I get the opportunity to share my heart with you all. I thank God for this gift He has given me, and I always want to be mindful to what He wants us to hear."

"The Word He gave me this week is “SHIFT.” I thought of all kinds of “shift.” Like gear “shift” – “shift”ing sands – “shift” in weight of something heavy – a gear “shift” changes the direction of a vehicle of some kind. “Shift”ing sands go here and there – no real direction. “Shift” in weight of something heavy can be very dangerous. Sometimes our thinking needs a “shift” to something more positive. Maybe our attitude needs a “shift” from "stinkin’ thinkin’." We need to “shift” our perspective to open the possibilities, they are endless! “Shift” our thinking to the way God thinks. “Shift” our attitude and see things through God’s eyes. Our prayers “shift” things in the spiritual realm. When we pray – situations “shift.” When the dust settles from the “shift,” God’s Glory will be all around. I pray we all keep our eyes on the prize, Jesus. Have a fantastic week (even in the “shift”)."

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies. ~ Philippians 4:6-9 (MSG)

Into the Woods with CPC

News of the Week

It's all about JAM this week at GG. Both Rachel and Cam have lead jam making crews, getting strawberries, cherries, peppers, and lemons all turned into delicious Jungle Jam and Juicy Jam. What a blessing it is to see the bounty of summer turned into a fresh and tasty homemade treat! Of course, when they weren't being jam chefs, our folks were busy taking care of the fields and gardens that will soon be producing more beautiful veggies and fruits.

The other big news of the week was the return of Mission Trip Work Days. We had an absolutely fabulous day on Tuesday with our friends and mission trip partners, Canfield Presbyterian Church. Their Youth Group came out to spend the day learning and working here in North Lima. The day was filled with a tour and explanation of GG, working on clearing and mulching a walking path in the woods, lunch together, and then end of the day popsicles as a cool reward for hard work. We were so excited to finally be able to have a mission group join us once again! Big thanks to CPC for making this day possible!

On Saturday, Jill and Jen will be manning a table at the Columbiana Chamber of Commerce's Block Party. Come on down to Columbiana between 1-4pm, check out all the fun, stop by to see us, and get some freshly made Jungle Jam or Juicy Jam. It should be a beautiful day in the village.

If you would like to have fun here during the week with us, volunteers are always welcome, loved, and appreciated! We would be glad to put you to work weeding or doing one of the myriad other tasks that are done here weekly. Talk to Rachel about volunteering or just stop by, Monday through Friday between 9am-2pm.

Jungle Jam & Juicy Jam

Goodness Grows Jungle Jam and Juicy Jam are available in several flavors at
Reach for the STARS in Salem. Or, check them out online: Shop Local.
We are also glad to arrange a jam pick up at GG. Currently we have:
Jungle Jam: Blueberry Jalapeno, Strawberry Jalapeno, Hot, Cherry Habanero
Juicy Jam: Strawberry Lemonade.

~~~~~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
