Swizzle Sticks Sleeves

Emily Merkel made an absolutely stunning fall dress. She used the Peppermint Swirl Dress with the Swizzle Sticks Sleeves Add-On - did you know that the add-on has a ton of long sleeve options for the Peppermint Swirl Dress?
It was a bit cold that day, but never too cold to twirl!

Lacey Neumann Bissonnette sent us this gorgeous picture. She wrote us: "I just had to share these photos of a Peppermint Swirl dress I finished up today for a sweet girl’s golden birthday. (She’s turning 4 on December 4th.) Her mom asked me to make “a dress with some gold in it” and after showing her some fabric choices I found out her daughter’s favorite color is purple. I headed to the fabric store, and stated raiding the remnants for something she might like. I built the color palette from the bodice fabric, along with a lot of help from the wonderful women in the Candy Castle Facebook group. I’m so, sew proud of the final result, and the look on the sweet birthday girl’s face made all the time worth it!

Matching sweaters!

This is soooo cute! Starr Hann sent us some amazing pictures of her daughters in matching sweaters. We have the So Sweet Cinnamon Sweater for kids, and the matching Sweet Cinnamon Latte Sweater for adults!
Starr wrote: "I think my girls look so sweet in their So Sweet Cinnamon Latte Sweaters! So often I make my younger girl a matching top or dress to go with her older sister… this time, my 4 year old chose the fabric! Both my daughters love wearing their hoodies! (It is seen regularly around the University of Alberta Campus!)
It is truly a great pattern! "

I hope you didn't miss the release of our new dress pattern, the Praline Party Dress! It comes in a huge size range (from 12m through 14y!) and is just in time for Christmas sewing.

What's even better about it, is that you can get sewing right away - no need to print pattern pieces! You can have this beautiful dress finished today!

Do you have beautiful scraps leftover from a sewing project? Don't toss them! Use them to turn them into a cute Peppermint Swirl Dress for dolls!

Here's another Peppermint Swirl for Dolls - a Donkey Kong dress! I want one in my size! The talented seamstress is Ceilia Corsentino.

If you were looking to sew a last minute Swirl Dress for Christmas, you should definitely consider using stripe fabric. It just looks stunning.
Oh, you could also add the Princess Dress sleeves to the bodice if you´d like, just like Kari Steiger did for this dress. They are interchangeable!

***

Here´s another example of stripes used in the Peppermint Swirl Dress, again made by Kari Steiger! The beauty of the flounces is that it´s never ´too much´. You really can´t overdo a Peppermint Swirl Dress. And with stripes, as you can see in this picture, it will appear like they don't go in any particular direction at all, which just adds to the magic. Imagine the twirling!

Little Mercedes is rocking a Candy Castle Princess Dress, all ready for Christmas! Paige did a great job sewing up a Santa dress.

***

This is my own all time favorite Christmas creation. I know many of you are still looking into sewing a Bubblegum Swing Christmas dress. I added silver piping to my little Nora's Christmas dress, and I wrote a blog on how to do so if you want to recreate the look! You can get the pattern here.

The Bubblegum & Bubblegum Swing Dress come in doll sizes as well, if you were looking for a cute Christmas present!

***

Another quick Christmas gift idea: scarves! This FREE pattern carries all sizes from doll to adult!

***

And don't forget about the Lollipop Pi Skirt! It whips up so quickly and the panels allow for so much fun with mixing and matching fabrics!

***

Lastly, don't forget about yourself! You deserve to look & feel amazing this Christmas too, and what better way than to sew yourself a Peppermint Swirl Dress!? Yes, it comes in adult sizes too! Beautiful Idalmis pieced together the bodice to look like a chevron print. It's magical!

Christmas Swirl!

Ceilia told us she completely forgot cutting this Peppermint Swirl Dress last year, and now she found the pattern pieces back and decided to sew it up. I can't believe this beautiful dress almost never got made!

Do you see the doll she got to model dresses for her business? If you own a boutique, that might be just what you are looking for. I know all about photographing impatient kids!
