Letter From

2021 High Plains Emmaus
Community Lay Director
Dear Emmaus Community,
Dear brothers and sisters, greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.
I'd like to begin by thanking First United Methodist Church, Portales for hosting the June Community Meeting.
Thank you to our fourth day speaker Bobby Vinson for sharing about all that God has and is doing in his life. I'd also like to thank Stephanie Jesco, Brenda King and Marsha Shade for leading us in worship and bringing us into His presence. We also heard reports from both our Lay Directors, Terry Leatherwood MW 39 and Jill Denton WW 55, as they and their teams continued to prepare for the upcoming walks this summer.
Women's Walk #54 was "the best walk ever", at least that's what I heard from the pilgrims and the team members I've talked with. Jill Denton and her team were on-point throughout the weekend and the pilgrims shared all that God had done during the walk and how they were ready to pour out God's love on their families, church and community at closing last Sunday afternoon.
Praise God for His faithfulness!!!
Currently there are two more walks planned for 2021:
-Men's Walk #39 in July
-Women’s Walk #55 in September
If you would like to sponsor a pilgrim please go to the High Plains Emmaus website and download the registration paper work and get them signed up. The cost of a walk remains at $215.00.
Please pray about how you would support High Plains Emmaus, through prayer, attending monthly meetings and giving financially. More than ever, High plains Emmaus needs your prayers, participation and financial support.
Our next Community Meeting will take place on July 6th at Central Baptist Church, Clovis. The Board will meet at 5:30 PM, Sponsor's hour at 6PM and Community will begin at 7PM. Please join us as we come together in the Emmaus community as one, in the Body of Christ, to pray, to encourage one another and to receive what our Lord, has for each of us.
Childcare will be available at the July meeting, still no pot luck.
De Colores!
