We just had to share our exciting news with you – the Roaring 40s Kayaking team has won the Gold Award for Adventure Tourism in the Australian Tourism Awards!

Our competition for this award was amazing and fierce but the passion and professionalism of our team, also reflected in our visitors' feedback, won through. We, Reg and Jen, couldn’t be prouder of the people we have around us that share our aims and our love of this spectacular island state.

When we enter these awards, it’s a great chance to review every little thing we do and yes we’ve been judged as doing so much right, but we always strive to do better.

Tasmania has always shone but last Friday night we stood beaming broadly with our fellow tourism operators as we celebrated seven, yes seven, gold awards. When you add in the high achieving silver and bronze awards, the grand total is 17 awards. Not bad for an island off an island! We send special congratulations to our friends at Maria Island Walk on their Gold Award for Eco Tourism.
