10th anniv ordination

Congratulations Pastor Chad!
Sunday we will celebrate Pastor Chad on his 10th anniversary of ordination. He has served the Lord faithfully, and with great compassion for His flock. His teachings, guidance, wise counsel, and willingness to give of himself, has made a difference in our lives. Thank you for leading the way at St. Mark for eight years. Congratulations, Rev. Chad McKenna.

You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. John 15:16

Outdoor Worship is Back!
Our 11:00 service has returned to the east lawn for the summer months! We will continue to worship as we did last year. In case of inclement weather, the 11:00 service will be held in Fellowship Hall. We hope you join us for the sunny cheerful service.

vbs and picnic

VBS Celebration and Picnic June 25
Everyone is invited to celebrate with our VBS Heroes on June 25 on the lawn! Come to the 11:00 outdoor worship service to meet the heroes, dance to fun VBS songs, and participate in our service project by donating new picture and early-reader books for the RPL Mobile Library. Then, stay for lunch! Bring your own picnic and enjoy your lunch on the lawn or at a table. St. Mark will provide drinks and Quixotic Bakery’s food truck will be here with delicious treats to purchase.

RPL mobile truck

Our Vacation Bible School service project for 2023 is collecting books for the Rockford Public Library’s Mobile Library. The books that are donated to the Mobile Library will be given to the children who participate in Reading Tuesday’s at the Grove, plus other children in need in our community. Each child who comes to the Mobile Library has the option to pick out a free book. The Mobile Library needs preschool aged picture books and beginning reader books for grades kindergarten through 2nd Grade. If you are able to support our VBS service project, please place your book donations in the red truck in the fellowship hall. Please donate new books or gently used books. Thank you so much for supporting the VBS service project. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Katrina at prkatrina@stmarklc.com.

mosaic

Mosaic Hub
We have an exciting new adventure beginning with our friends at Mosaic. Starting on June 26th, from 10 am until noon St. Mark will become a Mosaic Hub. We plan to continue this every Monday. Our friends from Mosaic will come and spend some time here doing crafts, playing games, and other activities. The hub provides us the opportunity to get to know our Mosaic friends better and an opportunity for the Mosaic community to get out in the community. Mosaic will plan most of the activities, we are hoping to plan an activity and share a lunch with our Mosaic friends once a month. For June 26th, we plan to have a picnic lunch (each person brings their own lunch) and hopefully play some games outside. If you are interested in helping with the Mosaic Hub, please contact Pastor Katrina at prkatrina@stmarklc.com.

Reading at the Grove

Reading Tuesdays at the Grove!
We have an amazing opportunity to get to know our neighbors at the Grove. The Grove is located at 690 S. New Towne Drive just south of East State. On Tuesday afternoons from 3:00-3:45 pm we are invited to read with the children who live at the Grove. This is an informal time to read with the kids. You can bring your favorite children’s book or pick a book out of the container in the Community Room. You can bring a blanket or chair to sit outside by the playground and read with kids for 45 minutes. You do not need to sign up you can just show up and check in with the folks leading the program. If it is rainy or the ground is too wet from a storm, the Reading Tuesday will be cancelled. The program runs from May 16th to August 29th from 3:00 to 3:45 pm every Tuesday. Please email Pastor Katrina for more information, prkatrina@stmarklc.com.
