Thank so much to @Jules.Shackleford for turning up to the recent Knitting & Stitching show in her fab shirt dress made from our Teal and Yellow Brushtrokes Batik. She expertly combines prints and batiks into unique, one-of-a-kind garments and this is just one of them.

There is nothing like seeing our fabrics transformed into finished pieces. We absolutely love to see it!

If you were inspired by Jules’s shirt dress, we have put together our favourite Shirt dress sewing patterns. A shirt dress is a great project if you want a smart, tailored garment. It is easily layered with a jumper, cardigan or blazer and just as good all on its own.

Furthermore, it can be worn with or without leggings or trousers. One item with many different looks and possibilities. These patterns are additionally useful as they provide you length options. So you can make a dress for one project and a shirt for another.

Finally got to see the Africa Fashion exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. I would really recommend a visit if you able to.

I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the different histories and approaches by such a varied talent of designers. From the traditional to the minimal. The level of detailing and the outstanding craftsmanship on some pieces were breathtaking.
