"The ice has broken on the Santa Cruz." This is a colloquialism that means to the locals, we have had our first 100 Degree day. That was Saturday May 30th. There are many more to come.

I did however finally get a picture of a bit of the local flora that I have always called a Dr. Seuss plant. I recently found out that it is actually a yucca. The white flowers appear in the spring and last about a week. A very strange plant indeed.

I also promised a photo of the new music cabinet for my piano recording room. Some friends have asked how power tools and piano go together. Frankly, they don't, other than to say I am VERY careful. This was built from primarily scraps and left over bits and pieces. It won't write the music for me, but it does make the process of recording and production much easier!

On the music front there are a few things for you to download. I recorded an arrangement (that I will re-record for a future album, just not sure which one at this point) of Shenandoah. You can listen to it on Soundcloud.

I also collaborated with my old bandmate and friend Michael Drake - click here to go to his web site on a new version of June from one of my current projects, In The Course Of A Year. It is available on NoiseTrade as well as Soundcloud. I played in Michael's band Michael Drake and the No Tan Lines Band for close to twelve years. (It is one of the best party bands in SE Wisconsin... it was a BLAST!)

I finally did what all the marketing gurus tell indie artists to do... I have a Facebook artist page - click HERE to see it. (Actually I have had not just one, but three of them. I consolidated them finally!) Now I just need to get in the habit of posting there! Please consider liking my page - most of my music updates will get posted there, so please check it out!

That should wrap things up for now. This week I am heading "home" - back to western Washington for the week. I am looking forward to cooler temps!

Please stay in touch. If you have any questions, comments, or just want to say hi, please email!

All the best-
Greg
