unites solutionaries in the water arena with residents and businesses. We'll explore current water technology, celebrate the rains and learn about solutions to California’s historic drought. No matter rain or shine the stops are indoors and a short distance from each other. Besides...it's all about WATER!

We'll kick off Sunday morning with Watersong’s FREE Musical Water Wander and get energized with the MJBoppers Brass Band and Global Street Dance Masquerade at historic Soundwave Music Studios known for it’s long musical history including: Metallica, Mac Dre, Third Eye Blind, Green Day, Digital Underground, Counting Crows, Jefferson Starship, Greg Allman, Bobby Womack, Tupac Shakur, En Vogue, Sheila E., Pete Escovedo, Con Funk Shun, The Dead Kennedys, Tower of Power, T Bone Burnett, John Mellencamp, The Sly and Robbie, Blackalicious, T Bone Burnett and many, many more...

Enjoy a visit to American Steel Studios, a hotbed of artistic and environmental activity. Join Lupin De Mugh, American Steel tour coordinator, members of Groundation Foundation and Eric Mandau of Kijani Grows to learn about their 6-acre roof water catchment system, the living wall installment, their community gardens, the greening of Oakland, and aquaponic systems, and to see fantastic metal sculptures. Bonus: Go behind the scenes to see where many of the fabulous Burning Man art cars and art are created!

Next, we’re off to O2AA for a tour of Oakland's largest aquaponics system, illustrating a completely “closed loop” of recycled water perfection. Enjoy music and a lunch of homemade chili, noodles, salad and Sabor Mexicano Chips and Salsa. ($5). You'll be amazed to see what happens to Oakland’s felled trees that are brought here and how they meet a happy end.

After lunch, Afrika Town awaits! We’ll collect our brass and bop over to meet our speaker Anthony Forrest of Planting Justice to learn about how grey water can keep your garden alive. They'll be hands-on workshop on drip irrigation systems and other creative water systems. Special guest, Hip Hop for Change will also make an appearance.

Quench your thirst at Two Mile Wines. Enjoy the music wine, cider, and cocktails from several local and sustainable beverage producers. Learn about the fermentation and distillation of hyper-local products, how to make brandy, cider, wine, and even beer using grey water in the process that preserves our precious resource! Unwind with a sample if you like! At 6pm we wind down just in time to rev up the evening of Watersong Summit at the Oakland Impact Hub a block away!
