Sandefur Famiy Picture

A Note From Mr. Sandefur

Lion Family,

It is hard to imagine that we are in the final month of the 2022-23 academic year, with the end fast approaching. We are incredibly proud of our students and their hard work throughout this year. When reflecting on this year, I cannot help but think of God's providential provision. This year has seen many victories (growth in enrollment and the boarding program, two new nations represented bringing us to 101 nations over the school's history, academic and athletic success, and incredible new members of our faculty and student body) as well as difficulties (losses within our family, damage due to the deep freeze, etc.). Through both the valleys and mountains, our Lord has gone before us and He has received the glory.

As we prepare for the final stretch, I invite you to attend the Baccalaureate service for the Class of 2023, which will be held this Sunday at 2:30, hosted by Seymour First Baptist Church. Baccalaureate is a time when we join together as a school family, pray for our seniors, and celebrate their achievements. I look forward to seeing you soon as we celebrate the Class of 2023 and the achievements of all students.

Jeremy Sandefur
President/Head of School

Dear TKA Families,

My name is Ms. Addison, and I teach third grade here at TKA. I have been a part of the TKA family for four years now, including a portion of my masters degree internship program. I am excited to announce I will be offering summer tutoring for rising, or current year, 2nd through 4th grade math. I will be offering tutoring to better solidify skills from the grade the student will be leaving, or working on skills to prepare for the upcoming school year. The cost will be $30/half hour session in small groups and $35/half hour session for individual sessions. This will be made payable through your FACTS account. I will be working out of my classroom in the Ogle Elementary building.

IMPORTANT: Deadline to sign up is May 22, 2023.

I have created a sign-up form in which you can decide which dates and times work best for you. Students will be signed up for 30 minutes each session. The sign-up page lists all of the available dates. Please choose dates that work best for you and the number of sessions you would like. If you need to cancel a session or would like to be added to a session, please email me 48 hours in advance. Details are listed on the sign-up page. Dates are only available in June.

Please select the dates and times from the sign-up page below. Please know space is limited.

Visitor Policy

TKA Visitor Policy

In order to help maintain a safe and instructionally based learning environment for our students, all visitors for middle and high school must enter through the front door of the Anderson Building and sign in in the middle/high school office in order to receive a visitor's pass. All visitors for elementary must enter the front door of the Ogle Building in order to receive a visitor's pass. This pass should be visible at all times so that TKA faculty and staff know that you have checked in at the office.

Our doors are open to visitors, but please call ahead of time to schedule conferences with your child’s teachers. This will prevent interruptions to instruction and the loss of the valuable learning time of our students. Adults will not be allowed to wander the halls of the building or hold conferences with teachers during instructional times.

TKA family lunch visitors should follow the above procedure. Lunch tickets are $5 each.

Students who are not enrolled at TKA are not permitted to visit TKA students during the school day, which includes lunch.

This policy has been developed in order to help maintain a safe and instruction focused environment at school each day. Any visitor who does not meet these expectations may be asked to leave school grounds.
