Throughout the summer, during the closing ceremony for each Spirit Camp, I had a wonderful opportunity to share a teaching about healing the water on our planet. I'd like to tell you about how deeply this touched me, and give you the background of how this teaching came about.
A dear friend of mine works for the Coast Guard patrolling the coast of Connecticut and its 21 lighthouses. She realized she had a unique opportunity to aid in the healing of the Atlantic Ocean as she covered the many miles of coastline on Connecticut's shores. When she referred to the ocean charts and noticed an area of toxic waste, a shipwreck, or any other type of pollution in an area of water, she dropped a rose quartz into the ocean. Rose quartz is a healing stone and is often used for healing water. In fact, many people put a piece of rose quartz in their water bottles so the energy of the stone can impact the water they drink throughout the day. Over time, Anna's crewmates joined her in the commitment to use rose quartz to help heal the water. I was touched by their dedication.
After hearing Anna's story, I wanted to share it with the children I work with. As part of our closing ceremony at Spirit Camp, I presented each child with a certificate of completion with the words "You are on your way to becoming a spiritual warrior" written on it. I asked the children if they were ready for their first mission as a spiritual warrior. I shared Anna's story with them and presented each child with a rose quartz. They were instructed to hold onto the stone until they found a body of water that they felt needed healing. Then, they could offer the rose quartz to the body of water with a prayer that it work with all the other rose quartz dropped in bodies of water to heal our planet's water supply.
The children were excited and took their first mission very seriously. I am anxious to hear their stories about where and when they offered their stone to the water.
I am encouraged by their devotion to our environment. Our planet is in good hands.
This past weekend, I participated in a water healing ceremony along the bank of the Kennebec River in Augusta. I joined others as we drummed and rattled, then offered our stones to the river. At the time we were performing our ceremony, friends in other locations were simultaneously conducting their own ceremonies at other bodies of water.
We spoke of how the Kennebec River flows into the Atlantic and merges with the Atlantic Ocean. All the waters in the world are connected, just as our veins, arteries, and capillaries connect the blood flowing through our bodies. Whatever we do to one body of water will be experienced by the others. We are standing up and taking responsibility for the water on our planet, healing and clearing it in whatever ways we can.
I encourage you to do the same. The Native Americans in North Dakota are standing up for water and how precious and sacred it is. We can all do our part. I purchase rose quartz in bulk so if you are interested in purchasing a pound of it, please contact me.
