fall-quilts

Hello, September!

xo

It’s fall y’all. In Texas that simply means we turn over the calendar page, the weather pretty much stays the same (grin). Not complaining as I’m an endless summer sort of gal.

My favorite part is back to school shopping. I don’t have minors in the family, but I do have a passion for school supplies! This is the time of year I stock up on binders and page protectors – what better way to keep all my Blockbuster patterns from Studio 180 Design organized, or the multiple patterns I have on my bucket list.

I also love picking up new pens and markers. The colored pencils are fabulous to work in my graph paper composition notebooks – I’m old school, this is usually where I do my pattern design before taking it to the computer software. Composition notebooks are a wonderful way to keep up with that never ending to do list. If you can find them, there is even a primary composition notebook that is perfect to practice drawing out quilting designs for borders on those ruled lines that kids use to practice their handwriting.

Quilted Composition Notebook Cover

And what’s a composition notebook without a quilted cover! I’ve got you covered on that one too! Go back to my archives and revisit my blog where I have a post about making these covers as well as a YouTube tutorial and a downloadable PDF to get you started. These would make perfect teacher gifts for Christmas….yep, that’s just around the corner too!

September's Events

Two traveling events this month, next week I will be speaking locally at Bay Area Quilt Guild and doing a workshop with my pattern Illuminated Journey.

Later in the month Dianne will be joining me as we venture up to Grapevine, Texas for a lecture and a workshop with my pattern Paradise Island workshop with Bear Creek Quilt Guild.

I’ve had to cancel the remaining events for the year, namely my Land Locked Quilting Cruise for the end of September due to trying to finalize and deal with Hurricane Harvey mess – on a personal note, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we battle insurance for a final closure of this event.
