New York is under assault by FERC

First it was FERC’s rubber-stamp of the Spectra and Rockaway pipelines. Then it was new compressor stations at Minisink and Hancock. Now we are threatened by the AIM pipeline, and FERC has already signed off on both the Constitution pipeline and methane storage at Seneca Lake, prompting repeated and ongoing blockades at Crestwood's facilities.

The latest assault is Dominion’s “New Market Project.” Designed to bring more fracked gas through our state, it would bring an additional 112,000 dekatherms per day of fracked gas into New York, increase pressure on pipes that are more than 50 years old in places, and build THREE huge compressor stations, in addition to system-wide enlargements over nine counties in a 200-mile area. FERC botched the first hearing

Even though this project affects a swatch of the land spanning the width of the state, rather than holding meetings in each affected town, FERC plans to schedule only ONE additional meeting in the same area as the one it botched on October 8th. (Read a full account of that hearing and view video HERE.)

The second hearing is this Thursday

The Dominion "New Market Project" Scoping Meeting will be held November 20th, at 6:30pm
(doors open at 6:00pm) at Morrisville-Eaton Middle/High School (auditorium)
5061 Fearon Road - Morrisville, NY 13408. Map here.
