Just moments ago, the Liberals and the NDP banded together to defeat the Conservative motion calling on the government to table a "plan" to end the mandates. They were asking for this plan to be tabled by February 28th.

151 MPs voted for the motion.
185 MPs voted against.

ALSO BREAKING: EMERGENCY ACT INVOKED

In addition to this, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is invoking the Emergencies Act for the first time in Canadian history to give the government more powers to "deal with" protests happening throughout Canada.

Time will tell how they will use these powers.

SUMMARY

The summary of these two moves means that the federal government is giving themselves more power. At the same time they are not committing to table a plan to end current mandates.
