Greetings, all! This is a newsletter to inform people who are interested about the Crieff Community Band. We had an eventful summer, working towards a concert (see below), and I have been working hard putting together a schedule for the next few weeks.

Crieff Arts Festival Concert

On August 22nd the band played a successful concert as part of the 2015 Crieff Arts Festival. Originally we were going to be supported by a band coming up from Edinburgh, but they had to cancel at the last minute. However, we raised our game and got a great reception. Roger brought his camera along and has made up a DVD of the concert, so you'll be able to enjoy it from the comfort of your armchair.

The Pret Session

Friday 2nd October

It isn't 100% confirmed yet, but I'm planning to hold an open session at The Pretoria Bar in Crieff's High St on the evening of 2nd October. We'll start at about 8pm and play lots of our music, and anything else which you feel like playing.

RNLI Fundraiser

Margaret Bennett asked me if we would consider joining her in a fundraising event for the RNLI. There is a theme: "St Kilda", and margaret has offered to come and teach us some St Kilda tunes or songs. I have a few obscure St Kilda songs somewhere, so I'll hunt them out and see what we can do. It will probably be at the Strathearn Artspace, but I'll let you knoew the details when I learn them. I think it could be a good opportunity.

Crieff Ukulele Group

Starts 11th September

I'm afraid I've had to abandon the tuition hour before the CCN slot on Fridays, as too many times I was there by myself. In its place I'm starting a new ukulele class on Fridays between 6 and 7pm. I'll be winding it up each week at about 6.55pm, so if you could either come in very quietly before then, or wait till we're finished, I would appreciate that. All welcome.
