August Greetings!

Seasonal monsoon rains have put an end to wildfire dangers in the wilds of New Mexico for another year, and the afternoon storms have encouraged the sprouting of many hundreds of medicinal and other plant species at our Anima Botanical Sanctuary. Some days the river is too high to drive through even with our lifted Jeep, requiring that we walk and wade out to pavement, but it is so worth it to see the land coming to vibrant green life in the rush to seed.

Attention this month is going to production of the Autumnal issue of the quarterly Plant Healer Magazine, and its 300 color pages of herbal information and inspiration. Included will be articles by Sean Donahue, Matthew Wood, Jim McDonald, Susun Weed, Dara Saville, Shana Grover, and dozens more, along with the full length, 30 pages-long interview with visionary Plant Healer teacher and writer Kenneth Proefrock that we briefly excerpted from here in Herbaria.

We are also continuing with 2018 event planning, confirming two-thirds of the over 100 available class slots, and reviewing the many new class proposals you have been submitting of late. We are offering a $100 discount on tickets to attend, which will expire this Fall. To take advantage of the onetime price, click through to the registration page from the wholly revised:
Good Medicine Confluence Website.

On a more personal level, we have moved our bed into the nearly completed little room added to what was for decades our “one-room” cabin. After furnishing it with antiques I traded for, there is just enough room left for a woodstove and a baby bassinet from Kiva’s Baby Registry wishlist. I added hanging candle lanterns and silk flower string lights, and found old bubble-glass frames for hanging a couple of the wedding portraits that Cynthia took of us after our Confluence wedding ceremony. A recent sonogram showed us an extremely active little critter inside Kiva, whose gender and name we announce inside the pages of this Herbaria. Thank you so much for the gifts, blessings, and good wishes, it means a lot to us both!

Live your healing dreams. We’re here for you.
