Dear ,
Before I moved into my Tiny House, I always wondered what it would be like to live in a teeny tiny 140 square feet, off the grid, without the usual comforts of a 'normal' home. Would I regret my decision to spend $40,000 of my hard earned money on a sardine sized dwelling? Would I crave for all the stuff that I no longer own?
Those questions (and many more) were silenced by my need to live wholeheartedly and to live with integrity. For me, choosing to live tiny was a matter of principle. I wanted to be the person who 'lives' what she believes in, to live with minimal impact on the earth, not just by talking about it, but by actually doing it and living it.
After one year of designing and building my Tiny House, I can say with confidence that the transition (and transformation) is better than I ever imagined.
Here are some observations since living tiny (thanks to Laura Lavoie for some inspiration):
▪ A tiny house can make you BRAVE (truly!)
▪ A tiny house can give you FREEDOM
▪ A tiny house can TRANSFORM your relationship with others
▪ A tiny house can provide limitless OPPORTUNITIES
▪ A tiny house allows you to access the WHOLEHEARTED person inside of you
Admittedly, not all tiny housers have the same experiences. It's important to note that living in a tiny house will not solve all your problems and tiny houses are not for everyone, as written by Tammy Strobel in this post. But...
If the idea of living tiny resonates deeply with you, it may be the little voice that is waiting to be heard.
May you flourish in your own path,
