Director's Note

Dear AICL Community,

As a year of disruption comes to a close, we grapple with a sense of loss about places not seen, experiences not had, people not hugged and time that’s impossible to get back. And yet, through it all interscholastic mountain biking as a positive youth development tool proved its resilience. Participation, inspiration, dedication and all-around fun continued despite seemingly endless challenges.

Coaches and teams provided a healthy, safe, social and welcoming avenue for both new and old to the sport. Sponsors and parents reaffirmed their belief in the mission to change lives one pedal stroke at a time. Together, we continue to build confidence, foster healthy habits, strengthen bonds, embrace diversity, value hard work and triumph over obstacles.

Every day we say our thank-yous for what we have, and who we have, in our lives. From out bubble to yours, happy holidays.

The "Off-Season" Officially Begins December 7

Here is what the “off-season”means:

▪ Team practices and activities have ended, however, we encourage student-athlete(s) to keep riding under the supervision of their parent(s) and/or guardian(s).
▪ League policies limiting 1:1 interaction between student-athletes and coaches are year-round. These interactions include those in-person and via electronic communications.
▪ League insurance is not in effect.

Share the Ride, Change a Life

This season of giving, we are celebrating with YOU, all the ways that mountain biking brings JOY to our community. We celebrate our 1,210 student-athletes who bring enthusiasm, positivity and energy to all our mountain biking programs. We celebrate our 571 coaches who have dedicated countless hours to ensure student-athletes have been able to safely participate in mountain biking activities. We celebrate our 74 teams who have adapted to continue to bring mountain biking safely to their communities.

With the help of your donation, we will continue to provide the best and safest cycling programs for youth in Arizona and western New Mexico. The league is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
