Wednesday Morning Ladies Study: Hosea, 9:30am at Jen Shannon's You are welcome to join in studies at any time! | Garden & Nursery News Jennifer Shannon will be in the Garden, with a lesson about giving our worries to God. Activity pages will be on the table by the Sanctuary doors. Children 3 & younger are invited to the Nursery for Bible story time. |  Service Project | Youth Group Last Sunday we spent time in the book of Luke, focusing on the centurion's faith and what we value. We also worked on a service project, making cards for soldiers and first responders. (You can stop by the table in the Great Room to write a card as well!) We enjoyed some word games, snack, and one round of "The Game." Now there are only four regular school year meetings left, and we need snack donations for all of them. The word "tenebrae" comes from the Latin meaning "darkness." The Tenebrae is an ancient Christian Good Friday service that makes use of gradually diminishing light through the extinguishing of candles to symbolize the events of that week, from the triumphant Palm Sunday entry through Jesus' burial. This increasing darkness symbolizes the approaching darkness of Jesus' death and of hopelessness in the world without God. The service concludes in darkness, symbolizing the death of Jesus. The worshipers then leave in silence to ponder the impact of Christ's death and await the coming Resurrection. | Easter Sunday Service ~ April 21st Join us to celebrate the Resurrection Sunday. We have sealed and hung up gourds, worked outside, weeded and planted in the greenhouses, and spent time loving the spring weather. On Monday, we volunteered at Whispering Pines and then enjoyed lunch at El Paso and a shopping trip to Marc's in Salem. Tuesday's cooking project with Sue Weaver was a huge success. Goodness Grows News | CSA Time! Only a couple weeks left for the Early Bird price! Pick up will be Thursdays, weekly or bi-weekly, over a period of 18 weeks. We will provide a variety of produce from early June to mid-October. Pay by April 30th to get the EARLY BIRD Price of $325, which equals $18.05 per week. After April 30th, the cost is $360 for a weekly share, which equals $20 per week. Or, do a bi-weekly share from mid-June to mid-October for $200, which equals $22.22 per week.
