Register by June 13 for the Complete XC Program

You need to register by June 13 to participate in Fernando Braz's 56-day comprehensive XC training program. This is the most focused cross-country summer program in New England: 8 weeks (56 training days) June 23 — August 17.

GTD’s 8-week comprehensive program is for middle school, high school, and collegiate student-athletes who are training for the fall cross-country season.

The program includes training guidelines for 56 days. The first 14 days are off-site, and the next 42 days of daily training include 18 onsite sessions.
You must register for the Comprehensive program by June 13 to receive the week-by-week training outline.

Onsite session disciplines include core, circuits, base building, plyometrics, resistance training, threshold work, technique and form, concentration, focus, and racing strategies.

About the Program Director, Fernando Braz
As a high school athlete, Coach Braz won 12 individual state titles in cross-country and track. He was ranked 2nd in the country at 10,000 meters with 30:42 and was an All-American in cross-country and spring track. He was the first runner to win back-to-back All-State titles in cross-country, and he was selected to compete in the very first National High School Championship in San Diego in 1979, where he finished 15th.

He was the first Boston College distance runner to qualify for the NCAA championships in both cross-country and track. He was BC Cross-Country MVP three times, and he was named to the all-New England team 12 times (cross country and track).

Merrimack Youth Program Starts Soon -- June 9

Sign-up is still available as of May 29.

The program runs for 10 Monday evenings at Andover HS, beginning June 9. Start time is 6pm, with athletes gathering 10 to 15 minutes before the start.

When and Where

Monday evenings, 6pm -- 7:15pm
June 9, 16, 23, 30 || July 7, 14, 21, 28 || August 4, 11

Location -- Andover High School Track, Shawsheen Road, Andover, MA
Directions -- From route 133 in Andover, turn onto Shawsheen Road, which becomes Red Spring Road. The parking lot for the track is on your right. If you're using a GPS, your destination is 90 Red Spring Road, Andover.

The GTD All-Sports Conditioning
Program prepares athletes for the fall competitive season.

The North Shore Program meets for 5 weeks on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings beginning July 14.
