You probably already know about the importance of strength and flexibility training for your muscles. It’s the core of any sport or exercise program. This is also the spirit of Psychological Flexibility Training which is the core of ACT; psychologically flexing your mind so you can deal with most anything life throws at you.
Empirical evidence demonstrates ACT’s effectiveness in treating a wide range of disorders, from anxiety, depression, and PTSD, to chronic pain, eating disorders and substance abuse. Effective with individuals, couples and groups, ACT helps clients to live in the present moment, connect with their values, and effectively handle painful thoughts, feelings, memories, sensations and urges.
This 6-week training and consultation group will cover the six core processes of ACT – a contextually focused model of cognitive behavioral psychotherapy that uses mindfulness and behavioral activation to increase clients’ Psychological flexibility.
