The Gospel for this Sunday:

Matthew 1:18-25

God With Us

This week Isaiah prophesies that a young woman will bear a son and name him Emmanuel. The gospel is Matthew’s account of the annunciation and birth of the one named Emmanuel, God-with-us. During these final days of Advent we pray, “O come, O come, Emmanuel,” a beloved hymn based on the O Antiphons, ancient prayers appointed for the seven days preceding Christmas. On this final Sunday of Advent we prepare to celebrate the birth of the one born to save us from the power of sin and death.

Oh Come, All Ye Faithful! Join Us for Christmas Worship!

Christmas Eve Worship: 6:00 & 9:00 pm
Christmas Day Worship: 9:30 am
Join us to worship and celebrate the arrival of the hope the world still needs. On Christmas Eve, the celebration focuses on Jesus birth after Mary and Joseph make the journey to Bethlehem and take temporary housing with the animals where Jesus is born. Christmas Day we will greet the happy morning with Lessons and Carols. Together we will lift our voices giving praise and glory to God singing traditional Christmas favorites. Oh come, let us adore him, Christ the Lord!

Church Library: Children's Area

library childrens section

We are in the process of sorting all the books in the library. The children’s section is finished so bring your children to the special children’s area! Enjoy our many children’s books, as well as books for older readers and books for parents. Also, see the display of Advent & Christmas books in Good Shepherd Hall -- books for children and family Advent activities. Take one home with you for the season. Taking and returning books is all on your honor. Enjoy!
