Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"I pray your week has been fantastic and blessed! It has been a little warm here in the Northeast lately but yesterday and today were perfect. Blue skies – sunshine – 70’s – exceptional. July 4th weekend is upon us, and I am so thankful for freedom. Take time out of your holiday weekend and just thank Jesus for his unfailing love as well as if you happen upon a soldier – thanks to them as well. I am going to be looking for my opportunity for sure!"

"My WORD for this week is “PRESSED OR PRESSING.” Have any of you felt “pressed” lately? I know I have – being squeezed from every angle. Maybe being challenged in one way or another? Hold on – there is good that will come out of the “pressing.” We have that assurance from the Holy Spirit – our Comforter. I did a little bit of research on “pressing” olives. By the way – Gethsemane means “place of the olive press.” Hmmm, interesting. That is where Jesus prayed prior to being taken to be crucified. In the Bible there were three “presses” of the olives. First press is for the oil in the lamps, second is for medicine, and third is for soap. Think about this – Jesus is our light, He is our Healer, and He cleanses us. When we are getting “pressed,” we are going through a process of removing our thoughts and mindset to the Holy Spirit's thoughts and mindset. That is when we truly step into our anointing or place with Him. Olives are good by themselves but when they are “pressed” – the oil that comes can be used for so much. We may be good by ourselves but when we are “pressed,” the anointing can flow and He can work through us. This Word for this week has been so uplifting for me – I pray it helps you all as well! Just hold on – His goodness is flowing into our lives. We just may need a good “pressing.”

Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides.
You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors.
So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work, so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.
~ James 1:2-4 (MSG)

A Day of Exciting Visitors at CG!

Wednesday was a busy day. Don and Peggy Fisher came for a visit. Marcia, JR, and Aiden stopped by for some cuddle-the-baby time and to drop off items for our Giveaway. Jill brought her three granddaughters and Gracie the pup to see us...and to play on the playground. Our playground now has the canine seal of approval! It was a wonderful day of spending time with friends and family!

News of the Week

We ended last week with a summer picnic. Cameron and Keaton led the food making and grilling crew, providing burgers, hot dogs, and strawberry shortcake. Darius, Kitty, and Sue all made a special trip to GG for the celebration. Even Mike Ashby and Rex Long stopped working long enough to join in the fun and deliciousness.

The word of this week has definitely been WEEDING! We have run watering lines and put up some fencing but mostly we have marshaled our forces against the ever-encroaching weed army. It is definitely an all hands on deck situation! If you ever have an itch to get outside and get your hands in the rich Ohio soil, we would love to have you join us!

Today kicks off this year's CSA season. Our first pick up day is today from 4-7pm. We have a very cool share for each of our subscribers to celebrate this momentous occasion! CSA 2022 runs from today through September 29, so if you are here any Thursday evening you might get to see some of our amazing GG supporters picking up their goodies. We can't wait!
