Dubai Roadways, acrylic on canvas, 36”x 36”
Dubai Roadways is a Winner in the 7th 2017 ArtSlant Prize Showcase competition. ArtSlant is a worldwide art network site.
In Dubai an aerial glimpse of a high speed motorway confronts us with the impact brought upon the environment by the oil boom. The overabundance of trees flanking a motorway in the desert speaks volumes.
**Greek Salad** acrylic on canvas, 24" x 30"
The Inquisitive Eater:New School Food has chosen this painting and published it with a short biography and statement about my work.
Greek Salad has the colors and shapes of a traditional greek salad with its ingredients. What makes it special is the use of oversized proportions and graphic rendition.

My entry is Blue Intersections: Quartered. Seen from above the highways are the linear design elements of the painting. Dissecting the image into four parts, the roads becomes further abstracted. Reduced to linear graphics, details are contrasted by the strong use of color.
