PRESORT & BAG different materials separately (including peanuts from Styrofoam pieces). NO BOXES, PLEASE

Must be clean (dust OK) and dry, FREE of tape, paper

SECURE so items will not fall or blow out (especially peanuts).
LARGE Styrofoam pieces do not need to be bagged.

(Shipping Styrofoam ONLY ... NO food containers or insulation)

Styrofoam recycling provided as a community service.

$1 donation (fuel expense) per lge bag of Styrofoam requested.
Business quantities, $10 fee (call 275-2405 in advance)

Recycling Christmas Trees

Town residents can place cut Christmas trees at the curb for Friday pickup in December and January.
Trees must have stands & all decorations including lights, ornaments and tinsel removed.

RESIDENTS MUST CALL TO ARRANGE for pick-up

(Calls received after 4:00 pm. on Thurs will be picked up the following week.)

WREATHS will be picked up with the regular trash collection.

City residents can set trees - stripped of all ornaments, lights, stands - at curb for regular brush collection, but MUST call 828-251-1122 and ask for pick-up.

Mon - Fri, 8am - 4:30pm; Sat, 8am - 12:30pm

Accepting real, fresh-cut trees from residents at no charge if brought from home; must be stripped of all hooks, decorations, lights, garland, tinsel and stand.

Accepting cut trees from businesses at the standard yard waste fee of $20 per ton.

Trees will be chipped & mulched.
