We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week! | Encouragement Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement. "I pray this week finds you healthy and blessed! The weather has been spectacular in the Northeast but could use some much-needed rain. God is still good, and His mercies are new every morning. My garden is starting to produce some fresh veggies – yum. Flowers are attracting the honeybees as well. All things work together…. we just need to look around. Our God has given us so many wonderful gifts to enjoy each day! We are spoiled." "My WORD for this week comes from my Pastor’s sermon on Sunday. As soon as I heard it, I knew it was for this week. “INVEST.” I am so thankful that if we listen, God will speak to us. We just need to get quiet and listen to His voice. To “invest” can mean to use our money to possibly buy stocks and bonds but the “invest” I want to write about is to “invest” in someone’s life. I have been eagerly keeping my Holy Spirit antenna out to keep watch for the opportunity to “invest” in others. Especially young people. They need us. Let’s find someone to mentor and “invest” in. As we let the Holy Spirit lead, we will influence others by example as we “invest” in their lives. Words of encouragement are free and can last a lifetime. To “invest” in someone may cost you time, but aren’t we ALL worth that? Only what we do for Christ will last. How much have we bettered someone’s life by just a little “invest”ment? Reach out, encourage, devote, commit, spend time, entrust, and “invest.” The return will be heavenly and eternal! I pray we all find someone or someone’s to “invest” in this week!" If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care - then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.. ~ Philippians 2:1-4 (MSG) | More Improvements Out Back | Mike Ashby, Analise Ashby, Roger Long, Rachel and her GG crew have been hard at work out back.
