Border Updates

Great news for the East Coast today as both Queensland will open its border to Victoria and all of New South Wales - including Greater Sydney - next Tuesday 1st November. This is a welcome relief to so many of you who we know have been separated from loved ones for much of this year.

This now means the Queenslanders are able to travel to almost all regions of Australia, including Tasmania, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Metropolitan Adelaide is still listed as a current COVID-19 Hot Spot and therefore restricted for travel, but all other states and territories, including Norfolk Island, are open for travel.

Remember that many states, including Queensland, require a valid Border Pass for entry (even for residents of that state) so make sure you check any requirements needed at least one week prior to travel.

Survey Results

Thank you to everyone who completed our survey about travel in 2021 and beyond. More than 80% said that they want to travel in 2021, which is great news for us! The most popular destinations for next year are Queensland (61%), Tasmania (37%) and Western Australia (33%). Nearly half of you said that you are planning a self-drive holiday where all the arrangements are booked beforehand - and SJT can most definitely help you with that!

Local Luxury and short breaks close to home were also high on the list, along with active adventures such as walking or cycling tours. SJT has partnered with some fantastic active travel companies both here in Australia and in New Zealand and so reach out to us if you're considering a walking tour, or even just looking for ideas.
