Hundreds of riders depart Kaiaka Bay Beach Park at the start of the Haleiwa Metric Century

Who Will Win at HBL’s Hale‘iwa Metric Century?

We’re not talking about a Race–the HMC is a Ride! But, there will be a winner on April 24!

Announcing the HBL Invigoration Station Awards! Community groups are choosing which Aid Station to “adopt”, gathering their teams, creating a theme, and will be competing on April 24 for your vote. Not Biking the Metric Century? Volunteer!!

The Hale‘iwa Metric Century on April 24 is a really important fundraiser for HBL as we emerge from a challenging two years of the pandemic. We need as many riders as we can get, but we also heavily depend upon volunteers to make things happen and keep our expenses in check. There will be volunteer opportunities in town on April 21, 22 and 23; and on the North Shore April 24. Use this form to let us know your interest. We’ll follow up with specific opportunities soon!

Never Stop Learning!

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." -Benjamin Franklin

Enhance your bike knowledge, cycling skills, and overall BIKE JOY by attending a workshop put on by your friends at HBL! There is a workshop suited for everyone, and with them being held all across O‘ahu AND no cost to you, you really have no excuse to not check at least one out!
Check out some testimony from a recent cyclist who attended HBL's last Bicycling Basics workshop:

HBL Helping Get Helmets On Heads

March is national Brain Injury Awareness Month, and fittingly, HBL teamed up with DOH’s Developmental Disabilities Division Neurotrauma Program to give out and properly fit helmets (for free!) to student’s heads at Leeward Community College. Check out the pictures here!

Do you know if your helmet properly fits you? A good way to test this is putting your helmet on & tightening the adjustment in the back so that when you give your head a shake upside down (with the chin-strap UNbuckled), the helmet does not fall off your head.

Together we're making Hawai'i more bicycle friendly everyday!
