Budgeting for next year? Yes it is time! October is a great time to reflect on the year. If you are unsure how to create your budget, first start with financial statements in excel for January - September. Then add a column that will calculate a monthly average. Next, create another column using that monthly average to figure the remaining quarter of 2015. This will give you an estimate for the total year. Of course if your business is seasonal or cyclical then you would adjust as necessary. Next, take time looking through each line item, and carefully assigning an estimated change for 2016. Some common items to consider: Are you adding more products or services in 2016? Adding employees? Maybe you need to cut back on certain expenses that seem high for the current year.

Take your time with your budget, making sure to align your budget with your goals! Good Luck! Please feel free to contact our office for personalized business budget consulting: (877) 851-9270 or tricia@ducksinarow.com**

How do I market my business? We aren't marketing experts but our many years of experience watching companies grow, we have learned a few things. A couple low-budget (do it yourself) ways to market your business are:
1. Create instructional videos on your expertise or even highlighting products you sell!
2. Monthly Newsletter full of great content. It's ok to give away your knowledge free!
3. Be a Savvy Social networker! Get on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. And connect!
4. Recycle your content. Instead of reinventing the wheel all the time, use content that you might have used in the past. Especially if the content was well received by your readers.
5. In Person Networking. Join your local chamber and strategic networking groups. Referrals are key in every type of business!

If you need help marketing, building a social media presence, etc. We have resources to companies that have years of expertise. Contact us and we can connect you! info@ducksinarow.com
