Fostering Early Literacy in Your Child

Parents of children in preschool through first grade are invited to attend this special event and join the conversation.

Forsyth Country Day School educators Ann Parke Muller, M.A., and Harriet Jennings, M.A.T., will lead the discussion and provide valuable strategies to encourage reading development in young children.

Topics covered:
· Developing a love of reading
· Exploring sounds, syllables, and rhymes
· Promoting effective communication
· Nurturing alphabet knowledge
· Expanding reading comprehension

Merriwood Christian Camp

Merriwood Christian Camp (in Clemmons) is a TRUE summer-camp experience! MCC offers quality, co-ed, age-specific programming for rising 1st graders through graduating seniors.
Activities offered include a bounce house, pool, 48-foot climbing wall, disc golf, archery, riflery, mountain biking, blob and water trampoline, canoeing and paddle boating, team building, outdoor cooking, model rocketry, and high ropes (depending on the age).

Campers will be encouraged and challenged both spiritually and emotionally, meet new friends, be mentored by passionate staff that love the Lord and youth, and be challenged with Biblical principles.

Sci-Fi Sunday Is March 5 at Kaleideum North

Dress in your science fiction best and head to Kaleideum North (formerly SciWorks) for Sci-Fi Sunday on March 5. From 1 to 4 pm, you are invited to celebrate space exploration and science fiction!

Learn about recent NASA expeditions, enjoy space-themed crafts and demonstrations, and meet Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion! Costumes are encouraged. Sci-Fi Sunday is included with Museum admission and free for members.
