Yes, it's true, it's been 5 months since I've sent out an email to my readers. Some of you are like, who is this anyways? You just signed up to be able to print off a tutorial. I get it. Who really wants or needs more emails to read or delete? I think I have over 2,500 unread emails in one of my accounts alone. Gah!

For those of you who may still be reading, I'm Holly the "Old Lady" (keep reading) in the photo below and have been the creator behind my blog, Ribbons and Glue for the last 6 years. WHICH, I seriously almost walked away from recently. I have a love/hate relationship with blogging. I love sharing what I create, love the positive feedback but just hate the business side of it. I stink at that part. I'm like one of those starving actors in Hollywood, just trying to get a break. I envy those gals who are capable of balancing creating content and business successfully. #envy

In the last two months, I've gone back to my day job after 10 years of staying home with my kids. My day job isn't that glamours either but it is/was my career and it's consistent work, unlike the world of blogging.

You'd think going back in to the workforce after 10 years away, shuffling kids schedules, getting home late, learning the new ways and realizing you are now the "Old Lady" in the office would be more stressful. Actually, it's a A LOT less stressful to me than blogging is. It's true.

Now, I am able to breathe a bit financially, have freedom to create what I want when I want. I still create for a few companies but I also don't have to constantly pitch for more work, track down non-payments nor worry that a company won't pay.

This Mama needed a break from all that for sure!

Now, if you're still reading this and you're a blogger, you know what I'm talking about. Or, you may be a SAHM returning in to the workforce after years away or just maybe, you're also the "Old Lady" if the office. Either way, I hope my email brings a smile in your day and helps you realize that sometimes you just have to take a step back from something you love.

I do enjoy sharing my love for creating and I really want to get back to being able to enjoy it again. Plus, I've got a whole lotta stories to tell you about in my day job now, ya know since I'm the "Old Lady" in a pond full of young-ins.
