The great Fall weather is approaching and you know what that means! Hike Time! Please join us for our Take a Groovy Hike for BAG IT fundraiser event Sunday, November 15 and support our efforts to help people with any type of cancer cope with diagnosis and treatment. We are helping over 6200 cancer patients and their families each year and what better way to support this mission than getting outdoors in the sunshine and cooler weather and enjoying a great brunch! Epic Rides, Inc has named BAG IT their primary beneficiary this year for their upcoming 24 Hours Ride in the Old Pueblo mountain bike race, February 12-14. The event filled up with 700 riders in an astounding one week! Watch our social media and next newsletter for ways you can get involved in volunteering, donating to specific bike teams (all proceeds to BAG IT) or coming out to watch this incredible event in Catalina, AZ. For 44 years, the good folks at eegee's and their employees have strived to lead by example in the area of social and environmental responsibility by generously supporting the local Tucson community and hundreds of organizations.

2015 marks the 23rd eegee’s Coupon Card program. Throughout the month of June, eegee’s provided its customers the opportunity to support a local not-for-profit organization. In appreciation of each $7 donation a customer made, eegee's customers received a coupon booklet valued at up to $48.

BAG IT is deeply grateful to eegee’s for selecting us as one of the nonprofit beneficiaries of their Coupon Card program! We also want to thank each and every person and business who donated through the eegee’s campaign at a Tucson area eegee’s restaurant or directly on our website. Many of you donated on our website, and then donated your coupon cards back to BAG IT for us to then distribute to cancer patients. Throughout July, cancer patients randomly found an eegee’s coupon booklet in their BAG IT bag with a note that it was a gift from a friend.

Through your generosity we can continue to educate and empower cancer patients and their families on how to Fight the Fear when receiving a cancer diagnosis and treatment. BAG IT will reach nearly 3,000 individuals in Tucson alone this year. Your donations will help us provide almost all the needed BAG IT resources to those in the Tucson community for an entire year AT NO CHARGE! Thank you for helping us Fight The Fear!

I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2004. As I was trying to just breathe (literally) I was bombarded with information and a schedule of appointments and things that had to be done that was overwhelming!

At one of my visits I was given a BAG IT bag... Ahhh. This gave me a small bit of control over the process. I had fun decorating my notebook with positive pictures with my young daughters. I then put all the overwhelming information in it. I set up sheets to write appointments and schedules. This sounds small but it was huge. The practical tips that were included were also helpful.

Thank you so much for that bit of control and peace during a tough time. It’s been ten years now and I still remember how important the BAG IT notebook was to me.
